Our family went to Devil's Lake State Park today for our annual "photos on the wall" photoshoot. Afterwards, I visited the lodge. This image is a composite of 3 RAW photos combined with HDR software. I love the super realistic look and the detail.

On my way to the Art Fair on the Square in Madison, Wisconsin, I took a photo of these mail boxes on an apartment building near the UW Madison campus. I read an article today about the confirmation hearing for Judge Sotomayor starting tomorrow in Washington and I thought I would create this piece in honor of the supreme court justices. I have heard rumblings of HDR (high dynamic range) photography for a couple of months but didn't really look into it until a few weeks ago. WOW. The images I saw got me excited to try this technique on some of the photos I have been taking. Here are a few of my first attempts.

In a farmer's field south of Mazomanie, Wisconsin sits an abandoned 1953 Chevy. I ask the owner if it would be okay if I took a couple of pictures. He looks at me like I'm nuts and says "sure". A week later I give him a matted print. "Is that MY car?" he asks. Yep, it is.
